The main component of DAA Extreme is the non-essential amino acid aspartic acid, which is produced in the pituitary gland, in the hypothalamus, and in the testes. Aspartic acid is found to a greater extent in green asparagus, but also in legumes, fish and meat.
D-aspartic acid is involved in protein metabolism. Not only are amino acids built up into protein structures, but broken down proteins and their waste products such as ammonia are also converted into urea and excreted.
In the brain metabolism, D-aspartic acid also takes on important functions as a neurotransmitter and is also involved in the conversion of carbohydrates into energy.
